So, the family headed with the dogs to the park and I stayed behind to catch up on some blog reading and some writing. When they got back, Teege came running into the house yelling, “Sister, Sister… I got a present for you!” And when he came into my room, he put a teeny little frog in my hand.
I was so touched, and because I am a lover of frogs, I would normally have petted the little guy and then let him out to live in the wild once again. But I was so happy that Teege was happy and it was such a nice thing for him to give me. this is something that he would have done when he was 6 or 7 and certainly not what I expected from a 13 year old, but I think that this shows that he’s always young at heart even as he gets older. So we decided to make a little temporary home for him and call him Mortimer.
I’ll release him tomorrow, but I thought I’d share a couple of photos of Mortimer The Frog.
He’s a cutie! Great name too 🙂
Mortimer is so cute, I like frogs, but from a distance (i.e. don’t like to touch). Hopefully J will pick them up all on his own one day or else he will be deprived.
Awww …. he is adorable! I used to have a pet frog just like him.
